Texas recognizes June as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Awareness Month learn more HB No. 405 The NAS symposium will contain useful information and unique engagement opportunities with an array of accomplished community and professional speakers. We hope you will attend and take advantage of all the symposium will offer.
What you can expect:
- Increase education about and reduce stigma surrounding substance use during pregnancy.
- Emphasize the relationship between abrupt discontinuation of substances, maternal relapse, overdose, withdrawal, and fetal distress.
- Provide community resources for pregnant women in Texas.
Learning Outcome: Participants will identify at least one area in which the symposium increased their knowledge regarding connecting families and communities using culturally congruent approaches and the latest evidence-based practice relating to neonatal abstinence syndrome.
